Intro to Fly Tying

  • Cazenovia Public Library 100 Albany Street Cazenovia, NY, 13035 United States (map)
Fly lure with aqua head, gold body, and white hairs.

Ever wondered how anglers create the perfect lure to attract fish? Instead of using live bait, fly fisher folk craft intricate "flies" using thread, feathers, and fur to mimic insects and other stream invertebrates—and now you can learn how!

Join the Cazenovia Preservation Foundation and expert fly tiers from the Madison County Trout Unlimited Chapter 680 for a hands-on Intro to Fly Tying workshop. Whether you're a total beginner or looking to refine your skills, our instructors will guide you step-by-step through the process. Materials and fly-tying stations will be provided.

  • When: April 19 at 10:30 a.m.

  • Where: Cazenovia Public Library (100 Albany St., Cazenovia)

  • Who: Ages 12 to adult (Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)

  • Cost: Free. (However, if you can, please bring a $5 donation to the event to help cover the cost of materials.)
