Spring Serenade: Wood Frogs, Peepers & Toads

  • Fenner Conservation Pond Cazenovia, NY, 13035 United States (map)
Brown frog on a green mossy log.

Spring is here and many animals are ready to make noise as they celebrate the newfound warm weather. Give a listen and you may hear some of the first calls of spring including a tiny frog called a spring peeper or an American toad (who eats its own skin!). You may also hear the call of a wood frog—which literally freezes its body over winter! Join naturalist Amy Kochem and learn more about our local fascinating frogs that emerge in spring.

What to Bring: Wear boots for muddy terrain and bring a flashlight for nighttime exploration.

Fenner Conservation Pond is located at the corner of Cody Road and South Road in the Town Fenner.
