CPF is excited to announce spring and summer fishing events that will really hook your interest! Whether you're a seasoned angler or a newcomer eager to learn, these events offer unique opportunities to enhance your skills and connect with fellow fishing enthusiasts.

Location: Cazenovia Public Library, 100 Albany Street, Cazenovia, NY
Details: Join CPF and expert fly tiers from the Madison County Trout Unlimited Chapter 680 for a hands-on workshop on the art of fly tying. This session is designed for individuals aged 12 and up, providing step-by-step instruction on creating effective fishing flies. Materials and fly-tying stations will be provided. While the event is free, a $5 donation to help cover material costs is appreciated. Spots are limited, so please register by April 6 to secure your place.
Creek Critter Exploration: Fun for Families AND Fishermen

Details: Dive into the aquatic world of Chittenango Creek with natural scientist Mat Webber of the Izaak Walton League. This hands-on exploration is perfect for nature lovers, environmentalists, anglers, and curious minds of all ages. Discover the fascinating creatures inhabiting the creek and learn how they indicate water health. Anglers will gain insights into selecting the right flies and improving fly tying techniques. Come prepared with waders or water shoes for an immersive experience. No registration necessary—just bring your curiosity.
Walks 'n Talks: Fishing Series—Learn to Fish & Fly Fish
Date & Time: Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Location: Fenner Conservation Pond, Cody Rd and Buyea Rd, NY
Details: CPF, in collaboration with Madison County Trout Unlimited and the Shane Pinard Future Fisherman’s Foundation, is hosting a free family-friendly fishing event. Instructors will teach basic fishing and fly-fishing techniques tailored to your interests. Participants can bring their own rods and lures or use the equipment provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Feel free to bring chairs, a blanket, and a picnic lunch to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Please note that there are no restroom facilities available. To help with planning, please RSVP to ensure adequate supplies.
